National Seminar On Education:Current Trends And Alternate Modes

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
With a vision to develop professional with broad perspective and specialized skills along with a greater sense of responsibility towards society and nation, Mata Gujri Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jabalpur, accreditated with grade 'A' by NAAC, took roots in 1994, under the aegis of Guru Gobind Singh educational society along the ideals, values and ethos of Mata Gujri, mother of the 10th Guru and wife of the 9th Guru.
It is a pioneer institute for higher education of women offering comprehensive education to more than 4500 girls the maximum strength in any singular institution affiliated to RDVV and not only known for its high academic achievements but has groomed its students for all round personality development.
The Management, Principal and staff work tirelessly and make a concious effort towards congenial research culture taking research to the classrooms.
THE CITY AND SURROUNDINGS
Jabalpur is situated in the 'Mahakaushal' region of the state and gets its name from history, being the native land of the great 'Jabali Rishi' and was given the name 'Snaskardhani' by saint Vinoba Bhave due to its good cultural heritage.The city of Jabalpur was the capital of the erstwhile medieval Gond rulers. It is not only an important historical place, but it is also famous for the marble rocks gorge on Narmada River near it. It is an administrative and educational center having 4 universities including Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur. It is the gateway to important wild life sanctuaries around it. The places worth seeing are Marble Rocks, Jain temple, High court, Gwarighat, Bargi Dam, Madan Mahal, Tripur Sundari Temple etc.
AIM OF THE SEMINAR
Education is the key social activity by which society reproduces the traditions and forms of life it considers desirable, and produces new traditions and forms of life it considers preferable to realise its aspirations for humanity.The seminar aims to provide a conceptual frame work to address the dilema faced by those who wish to interrogate and critically analyse these recent defections and reconstruct future pathways for education. The theme "Education: Current Trends and Alternate Modes"has been particularly chosen as there is a dire need to review and refresh the sphere of education. Varied dimensions concerning education have been synthesized to upgrade and reinvent new parameters for stream lining the education system as a whole to keep pace with the continuing changes in perspective of the new era.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Scholars interested in presenting papers are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:
i.) A brief abstract not exceeding 300 words, should be submitted by 10th March, 2011, in MS-word format. Soft copy of the abstract should be sent through email or a CD must accompany the abstract.
ii.) Name of author/authors, their addresses(postal and email) and phone/fax numbers should be indicated on the first page of paper only and nowhere else.
iii.) The medium of the paper may be either English or Hindi.
iv.) Registration is a must for paper presenters and that too in time.
v.) All selected abstracts accompanied by registration fee will be published in the Souvenir.
